60 Bird English Sporting

Fair Clay Targets held their first Easter Open Raising £1000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance fund on 28th March 2005.
The cheque was handed to Peter Mendham, who is their local fundraiser, at Norwich Airport.
138 Clay shooters from all classes turned out at Stanfield Quarry near Dereham to participate in the challenging 60 bird English Sporting competition with a total of £1165 in prize money available. Competitors were also invited to shoot a two-man flush and a pool shoot competition, with a further total of £150 given out in prize money in those two events.
£100 was also raised in the gun dog scurry with thanks to John and Nicola Hassall for their organisation of that event. Also many thanks to The Swan Inn, Gressenhall who provided the catering and Ling's Gun Shop, Great Massingham for providing cartridges and equipment. A big thank you must also go to the many charitable donations, sponsors, helpers and suppliers that graciously supplied their time and equipment for this event and also to Pete Roberson for providing the location and for making the whole event possible.
